The Barbarian

Watching the NBC Tonight Show fiasco got me thinking of who I supported the most.. honestly I like Jay... he seems to be a good guy and he's got good taste when it comes to cars. But Conan O'Brien is down right hilarious! I'm not going to lie I don't watch too much television and haven't been watching The Tonight Show regularly (not even when Jay hosted) but I did watch it occasionally and enough to think that Conan was doing a good job.

I'm not one of those people who blames Jay, I think NBC did this to themselves... They gave the show to Conan and took it away too quickly. I agree with Conan and "believe that delaying the "Tonight Show" into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting"

I don't think Conan needs sympathy, I think he'll be all right.

Anyway.. looking on http://www.facebook.com/imwithcoco and other supporter's websites and artwork I got inspired...

Pony Boy

A few months back my brother called me to help him shoot a 1964 1/2 Mustang Freddy Perales at Campos Custom Fab (with help from Michael Cody) built for Dave Stone. It was late, dark and we didn't have much to work with.. well besides a flimsy tripod and a great looking car.

I'm not a big fan of Mustangs, never have been, but the first time I saw this Mustang I was impressed with how good it looked! It looked clean, stylish, and tough. There are many subtle things Freddy did to this Mustang to make it look the way it does. You may not notice, heck I don't notice all the modifications that were made but sit this Pony next to a stock one and you'll see the difference!

Oscar & Freddy helped us move the Pony around to get a good angle (We had to use a long shutter speed because it was very dark)

The car not only looks tough but underneath that hood sits a 347 Stroker.

I love the stance of the car.

... and back to the stable the pony went...

It's good for me to shoot cars I normally wouldn't..

Live at the Fillmore

So we got tickets to the Rebelution/Zion I/SOJA concert at The Fillmore in San Francisco. We bought the tickets to watch Zion I! I have seen them before and was very stoked to watch them again.... Great performers.

Things don't always go as planned.. We showed up late because we never thought Zion I would be opening the show... Well we were wrong. We missed them all together and only watched SOJA perform 2 songs... but at least we got to enjoy Rebelution!

These guys are good! I had heard of them and had 2 of their songs... but now I'm a fan... these guys kill it!

and here's a photo I took today on the way back from having lunch with The Legend...

Don't Lose Your Head

This morning I've been working a shirt design for myself to wear to the Zion I / Rebelution / Soja show tomorrow night at the Fillmore in Frisco. This is what I came up with.

Visit www.zionicrew.com, Amplive & Zumbi are really talented and make some good music!

Juan Hancock

A couple nights ago my brother and I layed out 30 Bomba books to autograph and ship to Japan. Call me arrogant, but in the last few years I've gotten used to autographing my name. It used to be very weird to me that people would want my autograph, it took a long time but now I find it very flattering.
My autograph is pretty unique, I think. My brother claims that he helped me come up with it... Maybe he did but I don't remember. I think I came up with it on my own. Either way I dig it.

It's a "J" a roman numeral "2" and an "E"

Special thanks to Junichi at Paradise Road for ordering 30 Bomba Books and spreading Deadend Magazine in Japan!
